Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese therapy that has been used for approximately five thousand years. It is based on the premise that there is energy, called chi or qi, flowing through your body. Chi is thought to flow along "energy pathways" called meridians. There are twelve paired primary meridians in the human body. Each meridian is named for an organ it flows through or near and may subsequently effect the function of that organ. A blockage or imbalance of the flow of energy at any point on a meridian may result in illness.
Traditional Chinese medicine practitioners believe acupuncture unblocks and balances the normal flow of chi to restore health. Acupuncture is usually done by inserting very thin needles (usually the size of a coarse human hair) at certain points on the body to restore the normal energy flow along the body's meridians.
Dr. Rulli uses a technique called "Ryodoraku" or Electro Meridian Imaging to detect which points to treat. This electronic method of evaluation is reliable and objective. It is literally changing the way acupuncture is being done diagnostically and therapeutically.
The number of treatments varies with different conditions and individuals. Some patients will notice an immediate improvement, while others may require a little more time. The number of treatments vary from person to person - typically between eight and sixteen. Frequency of treatment is usually between one and two times a week. Patients are urged not to enter an Acupuncture program with the thought of taking a treatment "to see what will happen". Even though it is possible to achieve success with one treatment, it is rare.
The cost of treatment ranges between $60.00 and $85.00 per session. A series of 6 sessions can be purchased for $300.00.
